Montana Butsch is the founder of the Chicago Training Center (CTC), a nationally recognized after-school program that introduces low-income minority teens to the sport of competitive rowing. CTC aims to help students leverage their participation to maximize their personal and academic potential. CTC has been featured in The New York Times, CBS Nightly News, and Telemundo – to name a few.

Committed to social initiatives, Montana was a founding member of USRowing’s Task Force on Access, Affordability, and Diversity, as well as a leading voice in local social endeavors.

Montana is a passionate advocate for alternative sports as a pathway to opportunity and his opinion pieces have appeared in Catalyst, Chicagoside Sports, and The Shadow League. He is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, Kellogg School of Management, Oxford University, and IE Brown.
